On September 30 we, as a Nation, will collectively acknowledge the tragic colonial and postcolonial policies that have lead to intergenerational trauma for Indigenous children, youth, families and communities. September 30 is an important day to recognize, reflect and understand this dark chapter in Canada’s history and to remember and honour those who were lost and those forever impacted.
But- everyday, we must be conscious of our path forward together- toward a healthier future that only knows mutual understanding and respect and recognizes that strong relationships will be rooted in these principles.
